Since I picked up a camera as a young motorsport fan who enjoyed snapping from the sideline, my love for photography has flourished. After studying photography during my education, I landed a part-time job as the Staff-Writer and Photographer at Dirt Action Magazine. With opportunity in my hands and a keen enthusiasm to learn the art of photography, I had the chance to work with some of the best photographers in the industry. That was six years ago.

Today, I hold down a full-time position as the Deputy Editor and love spending time with a camera in hand. I have the chance to work with some of the greatest athletes in Australia and the world and have had thousands of images published in Dirt Action and online. I’m very proud to say I have had 18 magazine covershots to my name, so far.

Despite dirt bike and athlete images being the 9-5, I enjoy shooting anything and everything I can point my Canon at. Whether it’s capturing the joy on people faces, the spectacular light across a landscape, sports people at their best  and worst or mechanical beauty, I love to photograph it – in turn, I have launched Matt Bernard Photography.
